Title of the work: “Stop Violence”
Technique: Oil on canvas and Baltic Amber – South Africa.
Dimensions: 50x100cm
Realization year: 02/2017
Description:
It is a non-provocative conceptual painting that, with a strong appeal, says NO to violence against women.
The work, set on the plants of Mars, evokes the end of a life cycle and foresees the physical pre-eminence of a strong woman (see metaphor of the rifle she holds in her right hand); while in her left hand he holds a red rose that recalls past love.
In the adjacency of her feet, Adam’s rib is found which, metaphorically, recalls the now extinct man. At the top right is the eye of Horus attributable to the same power that women conquer day after day, a position in the world.
At the center of the aforementioned all-seeing symbol, a drop of Amber (name of the model she posed for the painting) was placed.
