With this work with the name “Precious instant” the artist wanted to represent his first trilogy entitled “Color test
Elegance, refinement and precision are expressed by the precious instant in which this splendid tropical little bird has been eternal in the very moment in which is feeding on nectar essential for his life, reflecting what I am in an authentic way.
At the beginning of the 20Th C. Emil Goeldi, the famous zoologist, described it as “precious stone and flower converted into animal”; while the American ornithologist, illustrator and painter John James Audubon compared it to rainbow fragments.
This rare and precious, tiny bird has been painted with oil pigments and precious stones have been added on canvas, Tanzanite in particular, which is my favourite stone.
