Description:
This allegoric work criticizes the consumer society and its greed for luxury goods.
Light overwhelms and prevails on the symbol of power: the Eye of Horus (Black Spinel), which personifies Evil and emits golden rays (gold pigments), which seem to induce unrestrained consumerism.
The Eagle represents that part of society, more involved in the vortex of consumption, about to seize in its claws the underlying precious stones.
The heap of precious, set down left, symbolizes luxury and the squandering of money for useless, often kitsch objects.
Light, cutting aslant the painting, recalls works of the great master Michelangelo and adds power to the message this work strives to communicate.
